Terms of Service

On this page

These terms cover your use of the PickVo app, published by Asaf Abargil. By using the app you agree to them. If you do not, please do not use the app.

What the app does

PickVo helps people who resell second-hand items. You photograph an item, the app tries to identify it, and it shows you what comparable items are currently listed for. You can keep a record of what you bought, what it cost and what it sold for, export that record to a file or import one from a CSV file, list an item for sale on your own eBay account, and find places near you to source inventory.

What the app does not do

This matters more than the list above, because it is where people's expectations of an app like this usually run ahead of what it can do.

  • It does not tell you what an item sold for. The prices you see are what other sellers are currently asking. An asking price is not a sale. Nobody may have paid it, and nobody may ever pay it.

  • It does not tell you whether to buy something. There is no buy-or-pass verdict, no scoring, and no recommendation. The decision is yours.

  • It does not value your items or guarantee that anything will sell, or sell for a particular amount.

  • It does not give financial, tax or legal advice. The profit, revenue and capital figures it shows are worked out from what you entered or imported, and are only as complete and as correct as that. They are not accounts.

Identification is done by an AI model and can be wrong. Treat what the app tells you as a starting point for your own judgement, not as a fact you can rely on.

The places shown in Source come from Google Maps. We do not check them, and a place being listed is not a promise that it is open, that it exists as described, or that anything worth buying is there.

Subscription

Using the app past the welcome questions needs PickVo Premium, an auto-renewable subscription billed once a year. The price is shown in the app before you buy, in your own currency, as the App Store sets it.

  • New subscribers who are eligible get a free trial first. The length of the trial is shown before you start it. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, the yearly subscription begins and is charged when the trial ends.

  • Payment is taken by Apple and charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase, or when the free trial ends. We never see your payment details.

  • The subscription renews automatically every year, at the price then shown, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged for the renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.

  • You can cancel or manage the subscription at any time in your Apple Account settings, or in the app under Profile > Settings > Subscription. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. Any unused part of a free trial ends when you buy a subscription.

  • Deleting your PickVo account does not cancel the subscription. Cancel it with Apple.

  • Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's own policies. You can ask for one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

  • Restore Purchases, on the subscription screen and in Settings, brings back an active subscription on a new iPhone or after reinstalling, with the same Apple Account.

You may still be charged by others - your mobile network for data, eBay for their selling fees, and so on.

Using it fairly

The app calls services that cost us money per request, so there are limits on how many identifications and searches one device can make in a period. These are set well above ordinary use. Please do not try to work around them, script the app, or use it to put load on our backend, on eBay or on Google.

Do not use the app to break the law, to infringe anybody's rights, or to list items you are not entitled to sell.

Maps and places

The Source map and the places on it are provided by Google Maps. Your use of them is also subject to the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.

Your content

The photographs, notes and inventory records you put into the app are yours, including anything you import from a file. We claim no ownership of them. You give us permission to process them only to provide the features described above - identifying an item, reading eBay item specifics from an item's photos when you prepare a listing, and where you ask for it, uploading listing photos so eBay can fetch them. A file you import is read on your device and is not sent to us.

No warranty

The app is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be available, accurate, uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude warranties that are not expressly given here.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for anything that cannot lawfully be limited - including fraud, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for money you lose on a purchase or a sale, for an item that does not sell, for an identification that turns out to be wrong, for a trip to a place that was not as shown, or for any indirect or consequential loss.

Some places do not allow these limits. Where that is so, they do not apply to you.

Ending it

You can stop using the app at any time by deleting it, and you can delete your account and its data in Profile > Settings > Account. We may suspend or stop providing the app, or any part of it, if we have to.

Changes

If these terms change, the date at the top of this page changes with it. Material changes will be described in the app.
