We aim to answer within a few working days. It helps a great deal if you include the app version, shown in Profile > Settings, and what you were doing when the problem happened.
Common questions
Why does it say the prices are asking prices?
Because they are. The app searches eBay for items like yours that are currently listed, and shows what those sellers are asking. That is not what anything sold for. Sold-price history is not available in the app, and the app will never present an asking price as if it were a sale.
Why won't it tell me whether to buy something?
There is no buy-or-pass verdict in the app and one is not planned for this version. Making that call needs sold-price evidence, which we do not have, and a confident recommendation built on asking prices would be a guess wearing a badge.
It identified my item wrongly.
Identification is done by an AI model from your photographs, and it can be wrong. Clearer photographs of the label, the model plate or the barcode usually help most. If the app asks for a specific extra photo, that request is the model telling you what it could not see.
Identification is unavailable.
The app could not reach our identification service. Check your connection and try again. If it persists, email us with the app version.
Too many scans in a short time.
There is a fair-use limit per device, because each identification costs us money. It resets on its own; the message tells you roughly when.
What happens to my photos?
They are sent to our backend and passed to OpenAI to identify the item. When you prepare an eBay listing, the photos saved with that item are sent the same way to fill in eBay's item specifics. Location and time information is removed first. The full detail is in the Privacy Policy, and you are asked to agree before the first one is sent. You can withdraw that agreement in Profile > Settings > Privacy & Data.
Why does Realized Profit say Not calculated?
Realized profit is worked out only from what the sale actually was: the sale price, the fees you paid, the shipping you paid and what you paid for the item. If any of those is missing, the profit is not calculated, and the app says which figure is missing instead of counting it as $0. Open the item and add the fees and shipping, or the purchase cost, and the profit is worked out. If there were no fees or no shipping cost, say so there, and $0 is recorded.
How do I change an item after I have added it?
Open the item and tap Edit. You can change its name, brand and model, its condition and your notes, what you paid, when and where you bought it, where it is kept, its inventory category and the expected sale price. Leave an amount blank if you do not know it: blank is unknown, not $0.
It stays the same item. Its photos, its status and its sale are not changed, and profit is worked out again from the figures you save. A recorded sale is changed from the same screen, not from Edit. A model the app confirmed from the item itself is shown and cannot be typed over.
Editing changes the record in PickVo only. It does not change a listing on eBay.
How do I get a copy of my inventory?
Profile > Settings > Inventory & Sourcing > Export Inventory, as CSV or JSON. A value the app does not know is left empty in the file, not written as 0. Photos are not part of the file.
How do I import inventory from a spreadsheet?
Profile > Settings > Inventory & Sourcing > Import Inventory, or the plus button on the Inventory tab. Choose a CSV file. A file exported from PickVo is read as it is; for a file from somewhere else, you say which column is which.
Before anything is saved you see the items that would be imported, the rows with errors and the duplicates. Nothing is added until you tap Import.
Items already in your inventory are skipped. Nothing you have is changed or replaced.
A CSV file has no photos in it, so imported items have none.
An empty cell stays unknown. It is not read as $0. A cell that says 0 is a real zero.
A date has to be written like 2026-03-14. A row with a date, an amount or a status the app cannot read is left out and shown to you, not guessed at.
Profit is not read from the file. It is worked out from the figures that are.
A model or a barcode in a file is kept as text. It is not marked as confirmed, and the item is not identified from it.
Nothing is created or changed on eBay. An item that was listed is imported as listed by you, without a link to an eBay listing.
The file is read on your phone and is not sent to us.
Why is a sale missing from my totals?
A sale with an unknown profit is left out of Realized Profit and out of the average, and the Home screen says how many were left out. Its sale price still counts toward Revenue.
How does Source find places, and does it need my location?
Source shows thrift stores, flea markets and similar places on a map. With location allowed it searches near you. Without it, move the map to an area and tap Search This Area. Location is used only for Source and is asked for only while you are using the app.
The map is blank or says it is unavailable.
The list of places still works. Check your connection, and if it persists email us with the app version.
What does Share Analytics send?
App usage and performance data: which features were used and whether they worked, and which choices you tapped on the welcome questions, so we can improve the app. It never includes your photos, items, prices or location. You can turn it on or off in Profile > Settings. The Privacy Policy has the full list.
How do I delete my account and data?
In the app: Profile > Settings > Account > Delete Account and Cloud Data. That permanently deletes your PickVo account and everything stored for it on our servers, including the copy of your inventory, photos and settings, the Apple or Google sign-in linked to it, your eBay connection, listing records, hosted listing photos and usage analytics. It does not end listings that are live on eBay, and it does not cancel your PickVo Premium subscription: cancel that in your Apple Account settings.
The inventory on your phone is separate: Delete Inventory on This Device, in the same place, or delete the app. Deleting the app leaves the copy in your account, and signing in again brings it back.
How do I get my inventory back on a new iPhone?
Install PickVo, tap "I already use PickVo" and sign in with the same Apple or Google account you set up PickVo with. Your inventory, photos, sales and settings are restored from your account. Your subscription comes from your Apple Account: if it does not show as active, tap Restore Purchases.
If you cannot use the app, email us at the address above and we will delete the records associated with your device's account.
Can I connect eBay?
Yes, in Profile. You sign in on eBay's own page; we never see your eBay password. You can disconnect at any time. eBay is the only marketplace the app connects to.
I need to report something that isn't working.
Email us. If it is a crash, tell us which screen and what you had just done.
